 "great lens" 2009-12-28

great lens. good quality. Haven't had any complaints about it so far. Very heavy. Doesn't feel cheap like some of the canon lenses.

 "AMAZING portrait lens" 2009-12-11
By Douglas Marshall (South Florida)
I can't believe that everyone hasn't rated this 5 stars...I can't imagine what faults people find with this or what they are comparing it to to rank it less than 5. This is the most amazing lens and produces incredible portraits with a sharpness that is unmatched. It also creates a very shallow depth of field with a smooth bokeh. I picked this one up off ebay in near mint condition for about $230 (a steal I'm sure). I also have the 50mm F/1.8, the 200mm F/2.8, the 70-210mm F/4 and a few others. I would say I use this one the most...while it is a little long for indoor portraits it's ok and I still use it indoors for events and weddings or individuals when I have some room to work. It's the sharpest lens and I get amazing pictures every time. Go over to flickr and look up tags with this lens and you'll see some great shots. In short, I would run, don't walk to get this lens

 "OK lens" 2009-07-14
By Shuva Rahim (Davenport, Iowa)
This is an OK lens and after using it for a while, I've determined it is it is best used only for detail shots. I did have some focusing issues on it, that would be the only downfall.

"Canon EF 100mm f/2 USM Telephoto Lens" 2009-05-18
By Henri Otis (San Jose, CA)
Did not focus well for me and images appeared less than sharp compared to some of my other lenses. Would highly recommend 50mm f/1.4 lens.

 "Canon EF 100 mm F2" 2009-01-12
By K. Carey (Arizona)
I love this lens just wish I had gotten it sooner. I am still learning how to best use it for action shots, but right now it's far better than any other lens I have for that purpose. It takes beautiful landscape and portrait photos. Focus is quick. Now, looking at the next lens I can add to my collection.
